SCCTER Governance
SCCTER Oversight Committees
SCCTER Operations Committee (SOC)
The SCCTER Operations Committee (SOC) is made up of all 12 Program Function Leaders plus the SCCTER Director. The SOC meets bi-monthly to review the various components of SCCTER, with the emphasis of operational components such as assessment and utilization data of ongoing services and cores, pilot project progress and clinical trial productivity, as well as discussion concerning process improvement, training and educational activities, and community engagement or other issues as they arise. A major focus of the meetings will be to assess ongoing operations to promote coordinated interactions between the various SCCTER programs themselves and between various research teams or individuals throughout the University and community. The SOC meeting is chaired by the SCCTER Director or, if he is not available, by one of the SCCTER Co-Directors.
SCCTER Strategic Advisory Group (SSAG)
The SCCTER Strategic Advisory Group (SSAG) has been formed to ensure that SCCTER is fully responsive to the needs of CTR researchers across the University and in the community. The SSAG is composed of a cross-section of University leaders and community representatives, and is chaired by Dr. Phil Pizzo, Dean of the School of Medicine. The SSAG provides SCCTER with high-level strategic input from all segments of its constituency. The SSAG’s role will be to monitor progress of SCCTER and to ensure that strategic decisions meet the intent of the CTSA. The SSAG meets twice a year to be apprised of progress and issues relevant to SCCTER, and to provide advice to the Dean of Research, Dr. Ann Arvin, and the SCCTER Director concerning performance, strategic direction and other issues as needed.
SCCTER External Advisory Committee (SEAC)
The SCCTER External Advisory Committee (SEAC) members will be selected and appointed by the Vice Provost and Dean of Research of Stanford in consultation with SCCTER leadership and the NIH after the CTSA is awarded. This committee will meet annually for one day to review the progress of the SCCTER. The SEAC will consist of a diverse set of leaders from outside institutions in fields appropriate for review of SCCTER, including leaders from other CTSAs if possible. The SEAC will be requested to evaluate all aspects of the program, with emphasis on whether SCCTER is effectively transforming the environment for CTR at Stanford and meeting the intent of the CTSA.
