SCCTER Executive Leadership
Harry B. Greenberg, MD, Director of SCCTER, is responsible for managing all affairs of the Center including developing its strategic agenda, overseeing its operational functions, and appointing program leaders (in consultation with the Dean of Research and the SSAG). Dr. Greenberg will be responsible for allocating and administering space, equipment, personnel, and the overall budget of the Center, including funds to support CTR generated by philanthropic or other institutional efforts. He is the chair of the SCCTER executive committee (SEC) and is responsible for all interactions with the NIH and the national CTSA program. More »
CO-DIRECTORS
SCCTER is also overseen by four Co-Directors who assist Dr. Greenberg in the leadership of the Center, in setting the overall goals and expectations of the Center, and in participating in the SCCTER Executive Committee to track progress, identify problems, and ensure operational stability and coordination of the center programs. The Co-Directors have specific oversight responsibilities that consist of being knowledgeable of accomplishments, problems and other operational issues concerning the specific programs and communicating this information to SEC for resolution.
Charles Prober, MD, Professor of Pediatrics and Microbiology & Immunology, and Senior Associate Dean for Medical Student Education, has specific oversight responsibilities of the Research Education and Training Program, Office of Community Research, and the Career Development and Diversity Center. Dr. Prober also leads the Research Education and Training Program, assuming overall responsibility for the education and training components of SCCTER. More »
Philip Lavori, PhD, Professor and Chair of Health Research and Policy, has specific oversight responsibilities of the Center for Innovative Study Design, the Translational Informatics Program, the CTR Support Portal, and the Ethics Core. Dr. Lavori also leads the Center for Innovative Study Design and coordinates biostatistical support in the Support Portal. More »
Branimir I. Sikic, MD, Professor of Medicine (Oncology), has specific oversight responsibilities of the Clinical and Translational Research Unit, the Innovations and Pilots Unit, and Core Resources (shared with Dr. David Stevenson). Dr. Sikic also has responsibility, with Dr. Stevenson, for leading the Clinical and Translational Research Unit including the important tasks of extending the reach of the CTRU beyond the traditional boundaries of our GCRC, and developing a robust mentorship program for young investigators. David K. Stevenson, MD, Professor of Pediatrics (Neonatology), Vice Dean, Stanford University School of Medicine, and Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, has specific oversight responsibilities of the Clinical and Translational Research Unit, the Innovations and Pilots Unit, and Core Resources (shared with Dr. Sikic) and children’s health. Dr. Stevenson also has responsibility for the design, administration, and assessment of the Pediatric CTRU activities, which includes all pediatric research performed in the CTRU and for ensuring that the special needs of children across the enterprise are met effectively by acting as the leader for SCCTER-Pediatrics.
