Postdoctoral (PhD & MD) Training

As part of the NIH requirements for a CTSA, SCCTER will develop a “K12” postdoctoral CTR training program that will have components for both PhD postdoctoral fellows and MD residents and fellows.  This will leverage existing efforts, including the following programs.

Advanced Residency Training at Stanford

The Advanced Residency Training at Stanford (ARTS) program is designed to encourage and supports residents and fellows for pursuit of advanced training in a field that will augment their success in CTR. This program enables residents and fellows to pursue a PhD in their discipline of choice. More »

Biodesign Fellowship

The Biodesign Fellowship is a one-year fellowship program that is structured around four-member teams. Biodesign teams are constituted as a mix of engineers and physicians with different backgrounds. Each team is immersed in a specific clinical specialty area and mentored through a three-month needs-finding experience. With NIH funding, SCCTER hopes to support several fellows in this program.
