Educational Opportunities

PhD Students

Traditional PhD predoctoral students receive extensive training and experience with basic or behavioral science, economic or social issues and research methods, but are not deeply exposed to human biology, disease, and medical practice. In an effort to train and advance a cadre of well-trained interdisciplinary investigators, SCCTER will provide opportunities for PhD students to gain interdisciplinary skills, leveraging existing programs.

Masters of Medicine

The Masters of Medicine program enable PhD students to become highly knowledgeable about human biology and disease. MOM students take basic biomedical science courses, including anatomy, physiology, genetics, immunology, and pathology, with SoM MD students, while concurrently pursuing their PhD course requirements and laboratory rotations.
